Recently, Yassir Arafat, no doubt with counseling from the Clinton US State Department (Albright, Indyk, Ross, Berger, Rubin, et al) came up with a new challenge for the existence of the State of Israel.

The United Nations Resolution 181 of 1947 offered Partition to the Jews and Arabs that would have given the Jews 3 small indefensible enclaves west of the Jordan river, the rest to the Arabs, with Jerusalem as an international city Recently, Yassir Arafat, no doubt with counseling from the Clinton US State . UN 181 completely disregarded the League of Nations and US Congress legalizing the establishment of the Palestinian Mandate, authorizing the "establishment of a Jewish Homeland in Eretz Yisrael, including both sides of the Jordan River. Sad to say, in 1921 England lopped off 78% of the Jewish homeland and gave it to Abdullah from Saudi Arabia.

Now, the Arabs claim that Res. 181 is still valid and operational. Chairman Arafat (who the UN calls "President") successfully enlisted the support of the UN, the EU (European Union), and slightly behind the scenes, Mr. & Mrs. Clinton with the Leftist Media and, of course, the Leftist Jews in Israel and America. Their proposal is for Israel to go back to her 1948 borders, with all that is vacated to be transferred to Palestinian control. Enter here the "International" Experts of the law who will spin reality into senseless words with the intent to sacrifice a thriving nation on the altar of political appeasement.

The underlying concept of law made by man is that we recognize that humans are inherently fallible, untrustworthy and need "legal" boundaries in dealing with each other. Man's law is not necessarily the same as G-d's laws...holy writ. Man's law is merely a recognition of our differences . Some keep the law - some skirt the law - some knowingly break the law. Often the perpetrators flit between all three. Korzibski, the renowned semanticist said that some believe words are "things" and they become reality when such a force as a UN or the US use this "word" magic.

One can see the coming effort by the nations of the UN to trick, threaten, bludgeon Israel out of her land. These same nations have frequently displayed their hatred and xenophobia for the Jewish people in actions ranging from pogroms, massacres, Inquisitions - culminating vilely in the Holocaust and suspending such laws that would interfere with their intent to kill the Jewish people or plunder their property. These nations, through the UN, now anoint themselves judges entitled to "partition" the Jewish State of Israel. These "judges" will not recuse themselves because of their obvious conflict of interest demonstrated in their prejudicial bias. They are enraged that a people in whom they invested so much hatred and killing should defy their best efforts and emerge as a thriving nation.

The Arabs rejected the Partition Plan of Resolution 181. They not only rejected it in diplomatic pronouncements but proceeded to close the door on any further discussion. Their final and conclusive word was to gather the armies of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Yemen and to attack the fledgling State with the cry of "Yitbach el Yehud" (Kill the Jews).

For all intents and purposes, Resolution 181 was declared null and void by the Arab nations, when Israel was declared a nation on May 14, 1948 as the Jewish State and 7 Arab armies attacked her. Was there ever a more definitive statement of intent and rejection of 181 than their military attack with the oft-stated intention to "push the Jews into the sea"? Had we not dealt with this during the Nuremberg Trials where International Law was codified concerning the matter of Genocide, intended Genocide, collaboration to Genocide? Laws, agreements....the Jews have seen it all fail when it came to us.

But, these same nations who would now roll back time in favor of the Arabs and for Yassir Arafat, a man who meets all the criterial of a terrorist and war criminal, these are nations who refused to help a besieged Israel when the Arabs attacked in 1948. In point of fact, they proceeded to ship arms to the Arabs while embargoing arms to Israel. Clearly, now as then, these nations have two prejudicial agendas, with one being their xenophobic hatred of the Jews and the other pandering to Arab Oil.

Twisting the law and language of agreements is not new to these unholy nations nor the so-called "legal" practitioners who evolve and conduct the "law". Over the centuries these nations, using distorted legal justification, have made agreements, broken them when profitable, invaded each other's territories, lost territory when defeated, gained territory when victorious and, in all ways, acted out the reasons that humans are untrustworthy and unreliable. These same nations who broke laws and agreements now re-read language of a moribund Resolution 181 that was dead 52 years ago, long since buried by six wars against Israel intended to annihilate her. These nations are ready to discard the reality of war for words on paper because it suits their political and economic purposes.

I have little doubt that Clinton's gaggle of Jewish muggers at the State Department along with the Israeli Leftists have evolved and assisted in developing this strategy. Mr. & Mrs. Clinton have made it plain they want Arafat to proclaim a New State of Palestine with (at least) half of Jerusalem as its capital. The trick, of course, is using the shield of Jewish minds as employed by an unholy President to ask for more (the 1947 borders) and settle for less (the 1967 borders) (maybe).

Putting the idea of pushing the Jews back to the 1947 borders into the minds of the Arab (which may have stared out merely as a ploy) has now taken root in their minds. It has raised their "chutzpah" level to greater expectations than are attainable. Sufficient blame to go around includes the badly drafted Oslo, Hebron and Wye. Labor Leftists with dreams of abandoning their Jewishness joined an amoral President who swore to his pastor to protect Israel but instead became its most vicious attacker.

It doesn't matter what Clinton and the State Department mandate because the Arab nations have not modified nor eliminated irreversible religious Fatwas issued by Islamic clergy across the Arab/Islamic Crescent to kill the Jews and dance on their blood (a homily from Arab semantics). We're all aware of the Fatwa issued by the Iranian Ayatollahs, mandating the murder of Salman Rushdie, where even appeals from all civilized nations to stand down the Fatwa were rejected as unalterable.

The legalists will tell us that the language of 181 has never been changed despite Arab rejections, punctuated by numerous wars. If Israel had not been a Jewish State, the Christian and Muslim nations would likely dismiss as trivial the legality of written agreements after the first failed attack by the Arabs. But, Israel is Jewish and the European nations who had previously turned their Jews over to Hitler, now wish to rely upon the abrogated terms of UN 181 to finish what Hitler started.

Strangely, it was the radical Leftist Shimon Peres who dryly observed that the Arab nations have broken over 350 agreements that they have made with each other - only in this century.

If Israeli leaders were wise, they's respond with "Israel is our land; Jerusalem is our capital and we will not discuss abandoning or re-partitioning with anyone." But, Israel's Jews are always so reasonable and placate their opponents no matter how hostile. Regrettably, a Jew will sit down to discuss his life or death as if it is a mere problem of the mind where discussion will offer a solution.

Israel could end all discussion with a terse proclamation... but, she won't. She will wait to gather her legal minds to evolve a Jewish response based upon interpretation of the language of Resolution 181. They will attempt to show that Resolution 181 was canceled by the Arabs verbally and by acts of war. In a war of words, the other side will say there is no declarative document which voided Resolution 181 and so, therefore, despite the factual reality of Arab rejection and war, it is still operational. With the Jews being too willing to discuss their fate in an International Forum, this will provide the legitimacy necessary to resurrect and confirm 181. Let us be mindful that the UN has always, in hundreds of votes, condemned Israel, while never voting against Arab nations who engaged in world terrorism, slavery,
etc.

The Israeli side could cite dozens, even hundreds of something akin to case law where the Europeans, Turkey, the Soviet Union, Germany, France, et al, had themselves made identical or similar agreements which were broken by the other side, resulting in war. The aggressor usually lost land which the intended victim, IF victorious, then incorporated into his own holdings. Shall we now reverse the transfer of lands between Greece and Turkey? Can this sweeping precedent call for the nations of Germany, France, Poland, Romania, Russia, etc. to go back to the original squatters rights? Historians will have a field day tracking land in Europe, America, Africa back through a string of prior owners.

Israel accepted 181 but the Arabs didn't. They attacked the nascent State of Israel, with arms and training by the British and Europeans. As the UN intended, the 1948 cease fire lines were indefensible for Israel, resulting in 5 future wars which miraculously gained her expanded and defensible borders. The Arabs had gambled by attacking Israel in their effort to wipe out the Jewish State - and lost!

Having lost both land and pride, the Arabs now want back what they gambled and lost. Israel paid dearly in lost 20,000 men, women and children killed, 100,000 wounded (many maimed for life) incessant terror, billions of dollars spent on the machinery of defense. That was a blood price that Israel paid which cannot be reversed. As the Fatwas mandating the never-ending struggle by the Islamic Arabs against Israel cannot be canceled, so, too, Israel's existence on the land cannot be traded off.

The Jews had little choice when the well-armed Waffen SS emptied cities and towns of their Jews, sometimes with the local residents cheering and then hurrying off to plunder the Jewish property. Proofs of these thefts are surfacing only lately. Such nations who assisted Hitler's Final Solution for the Jews, such as France, England, Poland, Rumania, Hungary, Croatia, Lithuania, et al are, of course, anxious to see the physical reminder of their perfidy permanently removed.

I have little doubt that the United Nations who have consistently voted condemnation against Israel will now use twisty legalisms and the practitioners of legal deceit to attack Israel's very existence with words and legal experts willing to turn their expertise into a black art. They will vote embargoes and other punitive measures, pretending they were taking the high road of law, order and justice.

They will cover these evil intentions by recruiting aberrant Jews of the Left who will deny the Arabs had forfeited and abandoned claims. They will be the cutting edge of this latest crusade to wrest the Holyland once again from the Jewish people. It will all be done with dignity, pomp and style. There will be serious hearings with the outcome prejudged by the nation s who have done this to the Jews many times before. Perhaps the only thing missing is for the hearings to take place in Rome before the Church clergy dressed in the hooded robes reminiscent of the Inquisition. In the shadows of the Left, I can see Clinton, Gore, Albright, Indyk, Ross, Berger, Rubin... there as friends of the court.

Clearly, the outcome of this charade is predictable and the only unknown is: "Will the Jews collaborate in their own demise?"
