MORAL FATALISM

It has been said that the age in which we live lacks a sense of sin.  And
there are signs that this is true not only of the world but also of the
believers in God.  Many pastors, rabbis, etc. tell us there is a terrible
moral fatalism among all of us, Jews and Christians alike--the tendency to
excuse sin rather than hate it, to rationalise it rather than to repent of it.

I heard about a believer who said that three sins have dogged his life: lying,
stealing, and sexual permissiveness.  He then went on to say that he was now a
believer for many years standing and that although he had given up lying and
stealing, he still lapsed from time to time into sexual permissiveness. "And
how do you feel about those lapses?" I asked.  He shrugged his shoulders and
said "Well, I suppose two out of three isn't  bad." The excuses are, " I
didn't inhale,"  "I didn't have intercourse with her, only oral copulation."
" What could I do;  I'm only human."

The implication of these statements is that sin is something that should be
expected. The tyranny of that fatalism must be broken if we are going to enter
into all that God accomplished for us.  But it will not be broken until we all
focus on the fact that God is still in charge.  He saves us from our sins and
from sin itself.  As believers in God, we must believe in the saving power and
we must hold onto the fact that although we will never reach the state on this
earth where it is impossible to sin, it is possible not to sin.

The world today expects the spins that are coming from the White House, news
media, Hollywood, etc., to guide us in our everyday activity.  It is easy to
score with some young thing by convincing her it's ok.  Everyone is doing it,
is the common phrase.  Many  steal from the office supply cabinet.  "They have
plenty, and will never miss it."  The moral decay is sickening here and in
other countries.

Americans have already been brainwashed into this decadent thinking.  How?
One of the ways is the teaching of the theory of evolution in the schools from
pre-kindergarten all the way through the highest level of zoology!  Sounds
farfetched?  Listen to this:  The theory of evolution tells students that they
are only animals which evolved from green slime.  Being an animal means that
behavior cannot be controlled; in other words, if it feels good, then do it.
If an animal, for instance a bull, wants to mate with a cow, does he have any
morals that would prohibit the bull from doing this?  Of course not!  If a pig
wants to steal food from another pig does he have any morals that would stop
this behavior?  Of course not!  Do you get the drift?  In conclusion, the
human race has been brainwashed into believing, truly believing, that
behaviors cannot be controlled and that we must be tolerant of those who "mess
up" because we probably will be next!  How preposterous!!!  Does this not
describe the President of the United States of America?
